Jonas “Birger” Birgersson (aka Broadband Jesus) is a Swedish Entrepreneur that has founded several companies and organizations. Currently he is creating the world’s first Energy Protocol (EP) together with fellow enthusiasts in the Energy Engineering Task Force (EETF) to enable the “Internetification of Energy storage and distribution” that will lead to low, fixed price for all the green energy that you need. In short this will be the Energy society that will be built on top of the existing network economy.
As part of his previous ventures Jonas is still building an “Open Symmetric Gigabit” broadband network in a PPP with the government of Israel since 2013 and in Austria since 2019. These projects he believes will be the blueprint for how to bring “fiber to all”. In both projects ViaEuropa is the neutral operator that with its “UrbanOS” BRIKKS software runs an open eco-system for Real-estate Corporations and Cities.
Jonas is mostly known for creating two billion dollar companies before reaching the age of 30. Both Framtidfabriken AB (framfab) and B2 Svenska Bredbandsbolaget AB (BBB) changed its respective industries at their creation. Framfab was (and still is) the largest powerhouse of digital design & e-commerce outside of the US (and third largest in the world). Selected long-standing clients of Framfab are: Volvo, IKEA & Nike. BBB was the pioneer of true broadband and is widely regarded as the world’s first modern broadband first operator. First with national deployment of services such as 10/10 Mbps (for 20 €) in 1998, 100/100 Mpbs in 1999 and offered true 3P from 2000. They built new digital infrastructure in Sweden, Norway, Denmark & the Netherlands. BBB went from a start up in 1998 to exit in 2005 and was sold for a billion dollars to Telenor.
Prior to this “Birger” was the chairman of what is today Sweden’s largest youth organization (SVEROK) that organizes more then 100 000 members including some of the world’s foremost gamers in both digital & non digital interactive gaming.
Jonas “Birger” Birgersson has also inspired a range of other companies such as the world’s first commercial “privacy-provider” RELAKKS, high tech sensor-based security company Tryggare.Net. For the last 20 years the focus has been to create “the de-constructed value chain” that will allow the profitable built out of FTTH and Clean Energy to all.
Mr Birgersson is a much sought after public speaker (both on industry, government & governance, and grand strategy). In his free time Mr Birgersson enjoy collective sports / interactive gaming & education work & participating in non-profit organizations.
